About the role
This is an hourly appointment currently funded through 11/30/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
Responsibilities
- Assist with seasonal job fairs and orientations, including answering questions related to the Recreation Program
- Prepare hiring packets for staff and process appropriate paperwork for Human Resources, Payroll, and Personnel
- Enter sales into Aspira (the current Campground Reservation System)
- Track payroll in Excel
- Collect and audit weekly campground paperwork
- Scan weekly paperwork for further auditing by staff in the Regional Office and Central Office in Albany
- File paperwork as needed
- Act as a supervisor for seasonal staff, ensuring they follow the Guidance Manual and Health and Safety protocols
- Become familiar with LATS to ensure seasonal employee payroll is submitted and approved on time
- Perform maintenance and/or janitorial duties as required, such as cleaning restrooms, setting up conference rooms for meetings, and assisting with collecting trash in the office and maintenance center
- Assist with mowing/trimming, raking, and staining/painting of buildings, picnic tables, and other duties as necessary
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age (preference given to those 18 years of age with a valid driver's license)
- Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position
- Must maintain a valid driver's license for this position (position requires use of a state vehicle and adherence to the Department's Vehicle Policy)
- Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain
- Must be able to work in remote areas
- Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds
- Basic computer knowledge required
