Parking Lot Attendant - Seasonal
Job Summary
River Market Community Co-op is hiring a Seasonal Parking Lot Attendant for a maximum position duration of 4 months. Experience-based pay ranges from $15.00 to $17.00 per hour, with 7-21 hours/week available. Candidates without weekend availability will not be considered.
About the Role
Work at a community-owned grocery store in downtown Stillwater to support a sustainable local food system. Parking Lot Attendants ensure the customer experience in the parking lot and outdoor areas, providing excellent customer service and supporting the Front End operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of parking lot and outdoor grounds area
- Communicate parking regulations to River Market shoppers and alternative parking options to non-shoppers
- Initiate towing for vehicles in violation of parking regulations per established procedures
- Cookout with Front End Shift Coordinator, towing company, and vehicle owners
- Coordinate towing services
- Provide prompt, friendly, courteous customer service and store security
- Answer questions in a friendly, helpful, timely, and accurate manner or refer unsolved questions/problems to Front End Shift Coordinator
Requirements
- Comfortable with challenging interactions and able to diffuse conflict
- Sufficient assertive skills to direct traffic and people and remain calm
- Stand and walk for several hours
- Push carts on flat and inclined surfaces
- Able to work outdoors in the weather
Essential Physical Functions
- Must be physically able to occasionally grasp, grip, pull, push, twist, and turn as needed
- Constant (67-100%): Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, working outdoors in the weather, walking, standing, talking, hearing, correctable vision including near acuity and depth perception, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds floor to waist
- Occasional (1-33%): Sitting, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds floor to waist, lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance floor to waist, lifting and reaching waist to shoulder, lifting and reaching above the shoulder
