PARKING LOT ATTENDANT

Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible presence while patrolling parking lots and facilities on foot or by electric cart to identify improperly parked vehicles, deter theft, and ensure valid parking authorization
- Monitor ingress and egress activity and report potential delays to supervisors
- Direct patrons to available or alternative parking areas or venues
- Ensure smooth traffic flow by posting signage, redirecting traffic, opening additional lanes, or calling for additional attendants during peak periods
- Issue valid parking passes to pre-authorized guests and enforce parking authorization by issuing warnings and citations to unauthorized vehicles
- Identify and report safety risks, security concerns, and parking issues requiring management attention or repair
- Conduct daily parking vacancy counts (minimum two times per day) and report data to supervisor
- Safely operate, park, and maintain electric carts, including maintaining daily EV charging logs and securing charging cables
- Use handheld communication devices (e.g., radios) to coordinate parking lot activities with team members
- Collaborate with other Parking Lot Attendants to support special events requiring parking preparation for high volumes of guests
- Perform minor housekeeping duties, including removal of trash and debris within the facility and parking lot booth
Requirements
- No training or experience required
- Valid California Class C Driver License to perform job-related essential functions
Physical Class 3 – Moderate: Requires standing or walking most of the time with bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasional lifting of objects over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds.
Desirable Qualifications
- One year or more of experience as a parking lot attendant, including directing traffic and patrolling lots
- Non-parking front-facing customer service experience (e.g., fast food, restaurant server, retail, sports stadiums, or similar roles)
Examination Process
This examination consists of an evaluation of training and experience based on application information and desirable qualifications, weighted 100%. A passing score of 70% or higher is required to be placed on the eligible list.
Candidates who pass will be placed on a list for twelve (12) months. Vacancies are currently located at 13144 Crossroads Parkway S, City of Industry, CA.
