About the role
This individual provides customer service for in-store, email, and phone for ParkerStore customers and provides daily direction for ParkerStore Support Specialist(s). Full-time hourly position.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the Retail Business Unit Quality Standards: Safety, Responsiveness, Knowledgeable, Accuracy, and Engaging across all ParkerStores.
- Maintain personal relationships with existing store customers and develop relationships with new customers.
- Identify and fulfill customer product and/or service requirements.
- Fabricate hydraulic, industrial, and pneumatic hose assemblies to meet customer needs.
- Safely operate saws, crimpers, and other power tools.
- Coordinate counter transactions, including locating and pulling orders.
- Perform computer data entry related to all areas of ParkerStore operations.
- Conduct accurate cycle counts, order products, transfer product to other locations, receive and stock shelves with inventory.
- Handle all material management functions, including ordering, transferring, stock receipts, and item put-away.
- Maintain stock levels and inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a professional store showroom appearance, assist in creating new displays, and implement marketing programs.
- Perform daily and weekly cleaning of the store and bathroom(s).
- Responsible for opening and closing the store.
- Maintain balance of cash drawer and prepare receipts for bank deposit; properly execute credit card procedures.
- May serve as on-call for after-hours customer emergencies and drive to deliver or pick up materials as needed.
- Run reports from P21, such as open order and open transfer.
- Maintain and submit records of crimp specs documentation.
- Train staff members in all aspects of their job and prepare store personnel for possible advancement or promotions.
- Schedule store personnel to maximize customer satisfaction while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma (or equivalent).
- One to two years of related work experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, effectively, and professionally with customers, vendors, and other employees.
- Read and follow written work instructions.
- Strong mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to handle products (inventory) up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work overtime, including Saturdays and holidays (after-hour emergencies).
- Accurate keyboarding skills (for data entry).
- Microsoft Office and Outlook knowledge.
- Knowledge of Prophet21 software and other vendor computer systems preferred.
- Willingness to take a Mechanical Aptitude test.
