Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of both guests and employees is the highest priority.
- Train employees in accordance with standard operating procedures, training checklists, and safety standards.
- Execute the cleaning checklists/inventory sheets for an assigned team and ensure cleanliness in front-of-the-house, back-of-the-house, and fringe areas.
- Ensure equipment is operated in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Ensure pre-opening and closing procedures are properly completed.
- Maintain an open and effective line of communication between team members and management/supervision.
- Evaluate the performance of employees and provide feedback to promote growth and retention.
- Take immediate and decisive action to correct employees who are working at a substandard level.
- Schedule rotations and break periods and ensure breaks are completed on time.
- Maintain an adequate stock of all necessary cleaning supplies, paperwork, and equipment.
- Interpret and enforce all park and corporate policies as set forth by Darien Lake.
- Respond to guest comments and resolve guest concerns in a friendly, non-offensive manner.
- Ensure employees immediately report all injuries to First Aid Department. Work with Safety to ensure that individuals are retrained when necessary to ensure safe practices are followed.
Qualifications
- Proven organization and time management skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and guests.
- Strong motivational, leadership and team building skills.
- Ability to learn to operate equipment including pressure washers, restroom deep cleaners, wash down truck, and sweep truck.
- Ability to read, interpret, and adhere to instructions and restrictions described in Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and a six-day workweek, as required.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit and stand and walk for long periods of time throughout the day.
- Must be able to work outdoors at various times throughout the year.
- Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, hand/eye coordination, near vision, hearing and speech.
- Requires occasional kneeling and bending.
- Requires occasional walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.
- Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 60 pounds.
- Requires occasional carries up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. This position requires occasional work in or around water, confined spaces-cramped quarters, heights, noise, detergents/chemicals, mechanical hazards, moving objects, fumes/odors, dust, mists, gases, or vibrations. The noise level is generally moderate.
