Parents Morning/Night Out Instructor

Nature And Scope

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Parents’ Morning/Night Out Attendant is responsible for providing a safe and attentive environment for program participants and achieving the goals of the program through planning and implementation of activities which provide guidance, leadership, education and enjoyment for children served by the each program.

Qualifications

• Preferred candidates should be 18 years old; 16-17 years old candidates will only be considered with extensive experience working with children, volunteer service at the Y, and/or service through our teen program.
• Previous experience working with children preferably in a day camp setting.
• Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc…
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of indoor/sport settings.
• Must have the ability to climb, walk, run, stoop, squat or kneel.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and carry equipment to appropriate destinations or affect the carrying of such equipment.
• Ability to use senses which enable safe supervision of children including seeing and/or hearing.
