A Parent Partner uses their lived experience to support parents navigating the child welfare system. The role transforms personal challenges into impactful support for families.
Responsibilities
- Navigate unfamiliar systems and processes with parents
- Advocate for parents and their children
- Participate in important meetings
- Work toward family goals
- Help families recognize and build on their strengths
- Remind families that change is possible
- Build connections that support families
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Personal experience as a parent or caregiver navigating the child welfare system with successful case closure
- No current CPS safety concerns or substantiated safety issues
- Preference given to applicants residing within the assigned service area
- Ability to build trust quickly, communicate effectively, and support families while maintaining professional boundaries
- Comfort working independently and collaboratively, navigating community resources, facilitating difficult conversations, and helping parents identify strengths and opportunities for growth
- Experience with trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus
Education
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Pay
$40,000 per year
Schedule
The position combines work performed from a home office or other designated workspace, including virtual visits with parents. In-home visits and community outreach throughout the service area are also required. Evening and occasional weekend availability may be required to accommodate families' schedules, and regular travel occurs in varying weather conditions.
