About the Role
The Parent Counselor provides in-home and community-based services to child welfare-referred clients, aiming to strengthen family units and promote parental protective capacity.
Responsibilities
- Conducting individual therapy and assessments
- Coordinating care and completing documentation
- Attending court hearings and providing client support
- Working within a team-based program, including trainings and advocacy
- Collaborating with substance misuse treatment counselors to promote family stability
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Behavioral Health Sciences (e.g., Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy)
- Level II Background clearance
- Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
- Strong conflict management skills
- Experience or knowledge in addiction counseling is preferred
