Parent Counselor (Master's Level)

About the Role

The Parent Counselor provides in-home and community-based services to child welfare-referred clients, aiming to strengthen family units and promote parental protective capacity.

Responsibilities

• Conducting individual therapy and assessments
• Coordinating care and completing documentation
• Attending court hearings and providing client support
• Working within a team-based program, including trainings and advocacy
• Collaborating with substance misuse treatment counselors to promote family stability

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Behavioral Health Sciences (e.g., Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy)
• Level II Background clearance
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
• Strong conflict management skills
• Experience or knowledge in addiction counseling is preferred
