About the role
The Utility Service / Fueling Associate plays a crucial part in ensuring para-transit vehicles are prepared for daily service. This role involves supporting yard operations, fuel island activities, vehicle inspections, and facility cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Opening the lot and checking para-transit parking areas to ensure timely vehicle dispatch
- Repositioning vehicles to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow
- Operating the fuel island and taking accurate fuel stick and meter readings
- Completing daily fuel inventory sheets and required fuel reports
- Monitoring fuel levels and notifying management when deliveries are needed
- Filling out fuel delivery forms and conducting pre- and post-delivery readings
- Checking and filling vehicle fluids and inspecting belts, tires, and vehicles for damage
- Reporting vehicle damage, tire issues, or maintenance concerns immediately
- Maintaining spill response supplies and assisting with spill containment procedures
- Cleaning vehicle interiors and exteriors to maintain a clean and professional fleet
- Performing light building and grounds maintenance
- Supporting additional operational needs as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Strong attendance and punctuality
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Working in wet, cold, hot, or changing outdoor conditions
- Standing, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting, and kneeling while performing inspections and other duties
- Using full hearing, speech, and vision abilities
- Using hands and fingers for paperwork, equipment, and basic manual tasks
- Writing clear, legible reports
- Driving a company or personal vehicle for work-related purposes when required
