About the role

Elementary Autistic Support Classroom positions are available at the IU1 Educational Campus in Waynesburg (Greene County) for the 2026-27 school year.

Responsibilities

• Support students with autism in a classroom setting
• Assist with daily activities and routines
• Participate in planning and implementing individualized education programs
• Work closely with teachers, special educators, and other support staff

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
• Experience working with individuals with autism or related disabilities preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Qualifications

• Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer literacy

Pay

The hourly rate for the 2026-27 school year is $19.90, including medical, dental, and vision-individual coverage.

Schedule

The work schedule for Paraprofessionals is 186 work days each school year and a 7.5 hour work day (30 minute lunch).
