TITLE: Paraprofessional - Transportation

About the role

This position is for the 2026-2027 school year and first work day will be August 10, 2026.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Educational aide certificate.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to interact positively with parents and staff.
• Must be highly qualified according to ESEA requirements.

Report to

Building Principal

Job Goals

To aid in the implementation of the educational process.

Performance Responsibilities

To be assigned by the building principal in any combination of the following areas:

• Activities may include the following or other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal:
• General Support
• student supervision and safety.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA.
• Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the position.
• Transportation Support
• Aid the bus driver in maintaining safe student conduct.
• Provide support to students with special needs during transport.
• Complete behavior reports as necessary.

Additional Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.
• Excellent observation and communication skills.
• May perform strenuous tasks, such as lifting, when working with students.
• Assisting students with behavioral/management needs.
• Frequent evening and/or weekend work.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel and provisions of the bargaining unit.
