About the role

The Paraprofessional supports the instructional program within assigned classrooms, specifically focusing on providing supervision, care, and instruction to special needs students. This role also involves assisting in the implementation of teaching plans, monitoring student behavior, communicating with relevant personnel, and attending Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the direction of the supervising teacher.
• Administers tests, homework, and make-up work.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance, as needed.
• Maintains instructional materials and records.
• Maintains a safe and positive learning environment by monitoring students in various school environments.
• Provides instruction to students in individual and group activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related area.
• Professional Educator License, Substitute Teaching License, Educator License with Stipulations (TBE), or Educator License with Stipulations (PARA).

Qualifications

• Preferred job-related experience.
• Targeted, job-related education with study in a job-related area.

Pay

Minimum starting salary with a license - Middle School (6.5 hours per day) - Step 1/$29,221.73
