About the role
Assist specified student(s) with disabilities in various settings to meet personal care, delegated nursing, and/or self-help needs.
Responsibilities
- Work under the general supervision of the principal and immediate direction of a certified special education teacher.
- Implement classroom programs including self-help, behavior management, instructional programs, and assistive technology.
- Collaborate with related service providers to implement students' IEPs and/or Individual Health Plans.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Formal academic assessment, associate's degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning*
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Ability to work with children with disabilities
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Effective communication skills
- Experience working with children or adults in providing self-care, or behavior support (preferred)
Qualifications
