Paraprofessional - Resource - 1.0 FTE

About the role

The Resource Paraprofessional assists the instructor in creating a positive work environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. The paraprofessional monitors student behavior and provides necessary information to school personnel.

Responsibilities

• Assist the instructor in fostering a positive learning environment.
• Support students’ personal, social, and intellectual development.
• Monitor student behavior throughout the school day.
• Provide relevant behavioral information to school personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children (preferred).
• Current Health Certification, including a negative TB test.
• Clear criminal background check.
• If the building is classified as Title 1, either 48 hours of college credit or a passing score on the Title 1 assessment test is required.

Requirements

• All employees must have a current TB test (Tuberculosis). A copy of a test taken within the past 12 months is acceptable; otherwise a new test is required.
• Employees are responsible for the cost of the TB test.
• Submission of a pre‑employment physical prior to the first day of work.

Pay

Starting Salary: $15.75 per hour – commensurate with experience.

Schedule

174‑day work calendar, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week).
