Paraprofessional - Park School (SY26/27)

About the role

The Paraprofessional supports the instructional program within assigned classrooms, focusing on providing assistance to students with special needs, supervising their care, and implementing educational plans.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the direction of the supervising teacher.
• Administers tests, homework, and make-up work as directed by the supervising teacher.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance, as needed, and follows instructions from a healthcare professional.
• Maintains students' personal hygiene and assists medically fragile or physically disabled students.
• Attends meetings and in-service presentations to acquire and convey information relevant to job functions.
• Communicates with supervising instructional staff, professional support personnel, and parents to evaluate progress and implement IEP objectives.
• Implements behavioral plans designed by the IEP team under the supervision of the assigned teacher.
• Maintains instructional materials and records as required by the school.
• Maintains a safe and positive learning environment by monitoring students in various school settings.
• Provides instruction to students in individual and group activities as directed by the supervising teacher.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related area.
• Licenses: Professional Educator License, Substitute Teaching License, Educator License with Stipulations (TBE), or Educator License with Stipulations (PARA).

Qualifications

• Preferred: Job-related experience.
• Targeted, job-related education in a field related to the position.

Pay

Minimum starting salary with a license - Elementary School (6.0 hours per day): Step 1/$29,310.90
