Paraprofessional - Middletown Prairie

Description: Middletown Prairie Elementary is accepting applications for a Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with certified staff to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal support that helps students achieve academic and social success. Responsibilities Support classroom instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic skills.Assist with implementing student accommodations and behavior support plans.Help supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other assigned times.Assist with preparing instructional materials and maintaining an organized classroom environment.Support students' social-emotional development while fostering positive relationships. Qualifications Must have an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or the Short-Term Approval for the Paraprofessional or the ability to obtain one of these license options prior to employment.Experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred.Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a team.Ability to assist students with academic, behavioral, and personal care needs as assigned.Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.
