Paraprofessional/Instructional Assistant

Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Instructional Assistant to support our Kindergarten and 2nd Grade Programs. The ideal candidate will play a key role in assisting the classroom teacher in delivering instruction, promoting academic growth, and supporting a positive learning environment for young learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the grade level teachers.
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
• Provide individualized support to students to meet their language and academic needs, promoting academic development.
• Assist in organizing classroom materials and resources to support learning and student engagement.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to strengthen instructional practices.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with young children and supporting bilingual education.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families.
• Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students.
• Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred, but not required.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with children, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Associates/Technical degree preferred.

Special Requirements

• Must hold AA/AS degree, completed 60 semester credits, or pass MN Paraprofessional test.
• Training in Blood Borne Pathogens upon hire.
• Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 6-12 months upon hire as needed for program.
• Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota.

Schedule

• Start Date: 26-27 SY (ASAP)
• Work Week: Monday - Friday, 6.5 hours per day

Pay

• Per Paraprofessional Agreement, Level 1
