Paraprofessional II (SDC, Individual Services) - Joseph Widmer School, 4.5 hrs./day

About the role

Under the direction of the assigned administrator and under the general supervision of teacher and/or other certificated employee, provides instructional/behavioral support to students in accomplishing learning objectives. Works with students of all ages with severe behavioral, physical, language, or learning handicaps. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• One (1) Letter of Recommendation with signature
• One of the following:
  • Proof of AA or BA Degree from a regionally accredited college, 48 Semester units
  • Certificate showing successful completion of a basic Paraprofessional proficiency test
• Education Requirement: High School Diploma (accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education) or Equivalent AND Forty‑eight (48) semester units or Associate Degree or higher or pass proficiency requirements established by the District.
• Pre‑employment requirements (at employee cost if hired):
  • TB Clearance
  • Fingerprinting
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation
  • Paraprofessional Testing (Proof of AA or BA Degree from a regionally accredited college, 48 Semester units OR Certificate showing successful completion of a basic Paraprofessional proficiency test. Candidates submitting College Degrees or Transcripts from outside of the United States must also attach a certified evaluation of the document(s) verifying equivalency.)
• If selected, provide proof of completion of high school or equivalent program.
