Paraprofessional Day Treatment Support Staff

Position Overview

Provide treatment room support by working with individual children and/or in small groups to implement treatment goals for each child. Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to carry out therapeutic interventions and support generalization of skill development. Support treatment room functioning by assisting with the daily set-up of the room and materials necessary to support activities and interventions. Provide support for functional activities such as toileting, snack/lunch time, outside, and gym time. Assist with schedules and clerical treatment room activities in support of the Mental Health Practitioners.

Compensation (Pay/Benefits)

The pay range for these positions starts at $16.92- $21.92 an hour for full time, depending on qualifications (i.e., licensure and experience). This salary reflects a 40-hour workweek, annualized. Any agreed-upon reduction in weekly hours will be reflected in salary commensately. Please inquire with interest. Full-time, 7:45 AM-4:15 PM M-F

Program Summary

St. David's Preschool Autism Day Treatment provides both early intervention and family support services to preschool age clients with autism spectrum disorder. Our approach to treatment is developmental, relational, and play-based, integrating mental health and pediatric therapies to provide support for the challenges associated with autism.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Paraprofessional I: High school Diploma/GED + 1000 hours experience working with children
  • Paraprofessional II: High school diploma/GED + 8000 hours experience working with children OR Associates degree/Two years of full-time post-secondary education + 4000 hours experience working with children OR Bachelor's degree + 1000 hours experience working with children

Preferred

Experience working with early childhood and children with special needs, particularly children on the autism spectrum
