Paraprofessional

Responsibilities

• Aid in creating a safe and organized classroom environment.
• Support classroom personnel in implementing educational programs and resource materials.
• Collaborate with other members of the instructional team, including educators, therapists, family members, administrators, and other paraprofessionals.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom.
• Adhere to Head Start and Early Head Start performance standards or individual childcare program standards.
• Participate in classroom activities designed to meet the specific needs of children with disabilities.
• Communicate with parents, family members, and other program participants.
• Work with CPS special educators or Early Intervention providers as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children.
• Willingness to attend monthly training offsite.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to travel to various sites as required.
