Responsibilities
- Aid in creating a safe and organized classroom environment.
- Support classroom personnel in implementing educational programs and resource materials.
- Collaborate with other members of the instructional team, including educators, therapists, family members, administrators, and other paraprofessionals.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom.
- Adhere to Head Start and Early Head Start performance standards or individual childcare program standards.
- Participate in classroom activities designed to meet the specific needs of children with disabilities.
- Communicate with parents, family members, and other program participants.
- Work with CPS special educators or Early Intervention providers as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children.
- Willingness to attend monthly training offsite.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to travel to various sites as required.
