PARAPROFESSIONAL, 1:1 EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION INCLUSIVE
About the role
Supports teachers by providing assistance with educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical and daily living needs of preschool children with disabilities in an inclusive preschool setting.
Responsibilities
- Provides services to one or more individual students as outlined in their Individual Education Plan (IEP), including supporting academic, health, daily living, and behavioral needs
- Facilitates and supports accommodations and modifications specified on Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and teacher lesson plans
- Prepares and sets-up educational materials for preschool children with and without disabilities
- Communicates and coordinates with students and parents about routine educational issues
- Assists with conducting testing and assessment, multi-media activities, record-keeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities as they pertain to working with preschool children with and without disabilities
- Provides daily living procedures such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene as trained and directed; additional duties may include health support delegation such as g-tube feeding or catheterization
- Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and lifting techniques
- Aids in maintaining high and low adaptive technology equipment
- Maintains supervision of student activity in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, playgrounds and other locations as required or requested
- Completes training programs and attends meetings as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must have a High School diploma/GED plus one of the following:
- Proof of passing the TABE D Adult Education Test for Reading and Math
- Minimum SAT scores (within the last 5 years) of 500 in Math and 470 in Reading
- Transcript(s) verifying at least 48 semester hours of undergraduate coursework from an accredited college or university

- Knowledge with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook
