Overview
The Area Manager develops and leads a team of Sales Consultants, driving commercial sales activities across a large territory, district, or region. This role requires a business-oriented, team-focused leader to manage customer relationships, sales execution, supplier partnerships, and program implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage a team of sales consultants; evaluate performance against developmental goals.
- Develop territory sales plans tailored to unique customer segments to achieve goals and objectives.
- Establish a regular team meeting cadence to communicate sales plans, priorities, and marketing campaigns.
- Coach sales consultants on effective pre-planning, visit notes, and opportunity pipelines in Proof Sales.
- Enhance product knowledge, resolve workload issues, and foster career growth and satisfaction.
- Assess talent, hire, discipline, and terminate staff as needed.
- Analyze and manage team expenditures to align with budgetary requirements.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree plus three years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of beverage alcohol products, the SGWS portfolio, and key product features and benefits.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Demands
- Considerable time spent sitting, typing, or using a computer/mobile device.
- Activities may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.
- Frequent driving throughout the day, with segments up to 2 hours.
- May require lifting, lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 48 lbs.
