What You'll Help With
The Paramedic administers life support care and transport to patients in pre-hospital settings as authorized and directed by physician. The Paramedic performs a variety of skills related to acute and non-acute settings in ground and/or air transport, responds to medical emergencies in a 911 setting and protects life and administers cardiac and trauma support when needed, and administers initial treatment at emergency scene, assesses patient response and makes adjustments as needed.
Requirements
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Licensure/Certification: Certified in the state of Virginia as a Paramedic. AHA BLS - HCP. ACLS, PALS, Haz Mat Awareness, NRP and PHTLS or BTLS required within one year from date of hire.
- Maintains advanced transport medical knowledge and abilities.
- Maintains and excellent driving record and may operate vehicle to emergency scene.
- Must provide current driving record and meeting driver eligibility requirements for all driver positions.
- Utilizes excellent communication skills in dealing with staff, peers, patients and family members in diverse situations.
- Writes clearly and presents numerical data/patient reports effectively.
- Maintains knowledge of basic computer skills and applicable software.
Benefits
Compensation Range: $25.77 - $38.66
