PARAMEDIC MAIN ER (PART-TIME)

About the role
The Paramedic will provide quality care to patients of all ages under the direction of the Medical Director, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Texoma Medical Center. The ED Paramedic reports to the charge nurse for shift assignments and direction of duties. Responsibilities include direct and indirect patient care, specified treatments and procedures, environmental and personal safety, and effective communication under the supervision of a healthcare practitioner.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care within a defined scope of practice, including observation, treatments, and procedures.
- Collect pertinent data within certification scope and document appropriately.
- Collaborate with RNs and medical providers to care for adult medical and trauma patients using advanced skills and judgment.
- Perform ECG interpretation, IV therapy, and initiate approved protocol orders and guidelines for patients in the ED setting.
- Work in collaboration with various healthcare workers, physicians, patients, and family members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited paramedic program.
- 1 year of experience as a Paramedic in a pre-hospital or hospital environment preferred.
- Licensed Paramedic (LP) or Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) in the state of Texas required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification (provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer).
- Handle With Care certification within 6 months of hire.
- Demonstrate arrhythmia competency with a 90% score on testing within 90 days.
