Paramedic - ER

Good Samaritan Medical Center (GSMC) is a 333-bed acute-care hospital in Palm Beach County, part of the Palm Beach Health Network. About the role

Per diem, rotating shift. The Paramedic functions under the direct supervision of the Staff Nurse, Department Director, or Clinical Manager, assisting with patient care by performing clinical and supportive functions within documented competency. Adheres to policies, procedures, and established standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assists with direct patient care as directed by the nurse and/or physician.
• Utilizes good communication skills.
• Participates in the Quality Improvement process to improve patient outcomes.
• Complies with all policies and procedures pertaining to HIPAA, including minimum necessary requirements for this position.
• Successfully completes department-specific competency requirements and certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum education required for licensure as a Paramedic in the State of Florida.
• Experience: None required; one (1) year of Emergency Services experience preferred.
• Required certification/licensure/registration: State of Florida Paramedic License; BLS and ACLS certification; CPI certification within three (3) months of hire.
• Completes blood draw competency within three (3) months of hire.
• EKG competency on hire.
