Responsibilities
- Attaches and completes 12 lead EKG tests before providing the strip to the physician on duty.
- Initiates cardiac monitoring, detects dysrhythmias, and notifies the assigned nurse or charge nurse of abnormalities.
- Performs venipuncture for testing and inserts peripheral IVs, hangs IV fluid without medication, and maintains prescribed IV flow rates.
- Observes and documents the condition of infusion sites and removes IV lines as directed by registered nurse.
- Assists physician or registered nurse with procedures and exams.
- Follows Center for Disease Control isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of personal protective equipment, performs hand washing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
- Champions customer service by keeping patients informed, providing updates, and demonstrating caring and compassion.
- Provides patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
- Transports patients as directed by licensed personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Grad or Equivalent
- 1+ year ED or pre-hospital paramedic experience
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
- Licensed Paramedic (PARA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS)

- Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
