About the role
The PED Technician functions under the direction of nursing services and as directed by department nursing staff. The PED Technician provides care for patients in accordance with physician orders, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies. Provides direct and indirect patient care while adhering to the mission and objectives of the hospital in order to meet the healthcare needs of patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Provides clinical support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
- Collaborates with the nursing team to ensure patient safety and quality care.
- Collects pertinent data within their certification scope of practice and reports all clinical and psychosocial findings to the RN and ED Attending.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED, Graduate from an approved Paramedic Program required.
- Experience Requirements: One year Paramedic experience preferred. Demonstrated clinical skills in pre-hospital and critical care transport preferred.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current certification as EMT-Paramedic in the State of Florida required. Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support certifications preferred.
