Paramedic - Emergency Department - Full Time 36 hrs./week - Nights - Warren

Full-time night shift position in the Emergency Department, with a schedule of 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM and every other weekend.

About the Role

Provides basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
• Initiates and implements interventions based on transport team protocols.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
• Provides population-specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
• Inspects, maintains, and cares for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients, and public.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Paramedic credential from the Michigan Emergency Medical Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification (American Academy of Pediatrics).
• ER Vehicle Operation certification.
• Michigan Driver's License.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
