Paramedic
About the role
The Paramedic functions as an EMS Department team member, assisting the registered nurse (RN) and physician with basic patient care, as well as, Advanced Cardiac Life Support care. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide patient care in both the pre-hospital setting and the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities
- Assist RN and physician with basic patient care
- Provide Advanced Cardiac Life Support care
- Collaborate with other team members in a team setting
- Communicate effectively with patients and families
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Current Paramedic License to practice as a Paramedic in the State of Indiana
- One (1) year of experience working as a Paramedic, EMT, or ED Technician (preferred)
- Valid Driver's License
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Certified Paramedic Certifications/Licensures required
- Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) required within one year of hire
