Paramedic

About the role

Provide advanced life support for critically ill or injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team.

Responsibilities

• Identify, intervene, and stabilize ill or injured patients during transport in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse, initiating interventions based on team protocols.
• Maintain equipment to ensure the safety of the transport team, patients, and the public.
• Communicate patient condition and treatment to receiving medical personnel as needed.
• Drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies when necessary.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required. BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. Paramedic credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of paramedic experience with a 911 service.
• Shifts: Ability to work rotating day and night shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of paramedic experience with a 911 service.
