Fairview is seeking a Paramedic to join the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department in St Paul, MN. This position offers a $5,000.00 sign‑on bonus, is 1.0 FTE (80 hours per 2 weeks) with day, evening, and night shifts, and includes opportunities to join the Events, S.W.A.T., or Bike teams, continued learning and growth, and tuition reimbursement. M Health Fairview (HealthEast Medical Transportation) has served the community for over 134 years; its St. Paul headquarters, built in 2010 with the St. Paul Port Authority, handles more than 60,000 calls annually using innovative equipment staffed by expert Paramedics and EMTs. The Paramedic will provide ALS/BLS transport care, respond to 911 medical emergencies to sustain life at the scene and transport to a medical facility, and perform inter‑facility emergent and non‑emergent transports.
Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge of, and follows, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
- Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcomes.
- Responds to and provides appropriate on‑scene medical care to patients during 911 medical emergencies, medical facility transports and non‑emergent transports.
- Provides effective and accurate communication with patients, families, physicians and other members of the care team.
- Actively participate in creating and implementing improvements at the point of care to achieve clinical quality and an excellent patient experience.
- Perform and have knowledge of ACLS, Disaster Management, AHA CPR and HAZ‑MAT Awareness.
- Documents patient information in EHR and/or other electronic system in accordance with program standards, department policies/procedures.
- Remains in good standing with the HEMT office of the Medical Director.
Qualifications
- Experience driving a medical transport vehicle
- Certified Paramedic, current with EMSRB and NREMT
- ACLS
- BLS American Health Association for Healthcare Providers
- EMT‑P
- EMT‑P‑NREMT
- Valid driver’s license and DMV record that meets the M Health Fairview EMS insurability requirements
