Responsibilities
- Oversee workers’ compensation files throughout the life of each matter, ensuring documentation is current, complete, and easy to access.
- Partner with insurers, third-party administrators, outside counsel, medical providers, and internal teams to coordinate claim activity and case updates.
- Gather, organize, and maintain medical records, billing materials, wage information, personnel documents, and other claim-related records.
- Monitor hearings, treatment progress, discovery timelines, court dates, and other critical milestones to support timely legal action.
- Aid in discovery by collecting documents, preparing draft responses, organizing productions, and assembling supporting materials for attorney review.
- Prepare correspondence, subpoenas, summaries, chronologies, reports, and other legal documents to support workers’ compensation and civil litigation matters.
- Cook up depositions, independent medical examinations, mediations, hearings, and related meetings while maintaining accurate litigation calendars.
- Support case preparation by compiling exhibits, binders, and status updates for depositions, settlement discussions, hearings, and other proceedings.
- Conduct basic factual, legal, and public records research and help identify important dates, issues, and facts within case files.
- Track incoming legal correspondence, outside counsel invoices, matter expenses, and follow-up items to help attorneys stay ahead of obligations.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role supporting workers’ compensation, civil litigation, or both.
- Working knowledge of discovery processes, litigation support tasks, and trial or hearing preparation activities.
- Experience managing legal files, deadlines, and case materials within case management software or similar systems.
- Ability to organize large volumes of records and maintain accuracy across multiple active matters.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with attorneys, outside counsel, claims partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with workers’ compensation claims handling, including medical documentation and claim status tracking.
- Capability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a strong background in legal support. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with case management software are preferred.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $25,000 to $40,000 annually.
