About the role
We're looking for a skilled Paralegal to join our Subpoena Team. This role involves handling third-party requests like subpoenas and investigative demands related to Fiserv entities. Key responsibilities include researching merchants, preparing and sending responses, updating databases, and interacting with in-house and external counsel.
Responsibilities
- Process information and third-party requests including subpoenas, demands, information requests, data entry, correspondence, and file management.
- Collaborate with issuing parties and other teams to confirm and respond to status inquiries and escalations.
- Identify potential related matters and issues, business contacts, and research tools.
- Use technical resources and system tools to assist with information management and maintenance of legal entities.
- Manage electronic case management tools and other databases.
- Support special projects, analyses, research, and reports.
- Build and maintain electronic shared file rooms or other databases.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in paralegal, legal operations, or legal analyst roles supporting litigation, third-party requests, or similar legal processes.
- Experience reviewing legal documents, tracking deadlines, and coordinating responses to claims, subpoenas, or court-related matters.
- Experience using matter management systems, document repositories, and database tools for legal file management, tracking, and reporting.
- Ability to prepare written correspondence, response letters, and legal support materials with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Legal Studies, Business, Criminal Justice, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience, and/or military experience.
Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal operations credential.
- Experience supporting litigation and third-party response matters involving consumer or individual accounts.
- Experience working with in-house counsel and external counsel on small claims, garnishments, subpoenas, powers of attorney, or guardianship matters.
- Experience in financial services, payments, or other regulated industries.
