About the role
The United States Attorney's Office, Middle District of Tennessee seeks a Paralegal Specialist to assist in legal research, document preparation, and courtroom support.
Responsibilities
- Independently performs legal research and writes legal documents.
- Organizes trial exhibits, documents, memoranda, reports, and correspondence.
- Prepares and manages discovery and evidence in electronic and hard copy formats.
- Selects and interprets pertinent guidelines and policies.
- Provides automation litigation assistance to attorneys in trial preparation and courtroom presentations.
- Participates in pre-trial witness conferences, identifying deficiencies and addressing issues.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship or Nationality.
- Pass a pre-employment adjudication, including background checks.
- Meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date.
Qualifications
- GS-9: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-7, or a combination of education and experience.
- GS-11: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-9, or a combination of education and experience.
