Hall & Evans, LLC, one of Denver’s most established defense law firms, has a full-time opening for a Paralegal Manager in our Downtown Denver office.
About the role
The Paralegal Manager oversees and directly manages the Paralegal team, including hiring, performance management, time tracking, and delivering feedback and reviews. The role involves monitoring productivity, providing guidance on processes and procedures, and ensuring the team meets all requirements and deadlines. The Paralegal Manager supports all practice areas and has an annual billable hour requirement of 1,000 hours. This position is in-person for the first 90 days, with the ability to transition to a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the paralegal team’s productivity, providing ongoing training and assisting new paralegals with onboarding and ramp-up.
- Lead by example to foster a productive work environment.
- Assist and engage with the Senior Litigation & Mentoring Manager to monitor work productivity and coach paralegals to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.
- Keep the Senior Litigation & Mentoring Manager updated on paralegal hiring needs, performance issues, and coverage concerns.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for paralegals regarding questions, concerns, or needs.
- Act as the escalation point for urgent requests during and outside normal business hours.
- Train and mentor new paralegals, conducting regular check-ins to ensure understanding of processes and procedures.
- Assist the Senior Litigation & Mentoring Manager in identifying training needs and providing job-specific feedback.
- Manage staffing assignments and adjust placements to meet the needs of all practice areas, identifying staffing gaps and hiring needs.
- Maintain excellent attendance and reliability.
- Fulfill paralegal responsibilities, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and routine correspondence to support attorneys and practice areas.
- Anticipate attorneys' needs, identify problems, and propose solutions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of management/supervisory experience, preferably in a law firm.
- Training and mentoring experience is a plus.
- Multi-state civil litigation experience required.
- Proficient in billing time and able to meet minimum annual billing requirements.
- Well-developed writing and research skills.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, attorneys, co-workers, and administrative staff.
- Exercise a high degree of tact, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Ability to multi-task in a complex work environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a high-volume workload to meet time-critical deadlines.
- High level of integrity and personal accountability.
Qualifications
- ABA Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience required.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.

Pay
The hiring range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 annually.
