Paralegal Lead - Real Estate

About the role

Responsible for planning, executing and overseeing a variety of corporate and legal projects as an integral member the Real Estate Legal team within Legal & Risk Services. Provides infrastructure and support by proactively assisting internal and external counsel and executive management in specific areas of responsibility. Collaborates with team members related to changes in federal and state laws and the organization's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Proactively assists internal and external counsel and executive management in specific areas of responsibility.
• Collaborates with team members related to changes in federal and state laws and the organization's policies and procedures.
• Provides knowledge and consultation to management relating to corporate and transactional documents, policy review, legal research, subpoena response review, legislation tracking; and drafts, reviews and/or proofreads complex contracts and other documents.
• Works independently, thinking strategically, managing multiple projects, leading by example and building relationships across the organization to encourage a collaborative work environment.

Requirements

The candidate selected for this role will come on site a minimum of two days a week for work and must live within a commutable distance to either the River Plaza location in Sacramento, or Powell Street in Emeryville. This is not a remote, work from home role.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's in Paralegal studies or one of the certifications listed below
• Certification & Licensure: One of the following is required if no AA in Paralegal studies
• PACC-Paralegal Advanced Competency Certification
• CP-Certified Paralegal
• Certified Legal Professional (CLP) (Administered by Natl Assn for Legal Professional - NALS)
• Professional Paralegal (Administered by NALS)
• APC - Advanced Paralegal Certification

• Knowledge of or experience in the healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of basic legal concepts; legal terminology, principles and procedures.
• Knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
• Knowledge of California and federal laws and regulations related to healthcare organizations.

Pay

• Sutter Health Pay Range: $41.45 to $62.18 / hour.
• Emeryville Pay Range: $47.67 to $71.51 / hour.
