About the Company
Carta is the connected platform and AI-native ecosystem for private capital. Built to replace fragmented tools with a single system of record, Carta brings together the software, services, and legal infrastructure that founders use to manage equity, fund managers use to run administration and reporting, and legal teams use to close transactions. Trusted by 55,000 companies and 1.8M+ equity holders in 160+ countries, and 10,000 funds and SPVs representing $250B+ in assets under management, Carta is transforming how private capital operates.
The Team
You will be joining the Funds team in the Americas under Carta Law. Carta Law is the largest AI-native law firm for private capital, born from the combination of Avantia Law and Carta. Our lawyers and paralegals work alongside embedded AI agents to deliver investor onboarding, transaction KYC, and high-volume legal work with a speed and consistency that traditional law firms simply can't match.
As a Junior Paralegal, you will rotate across or specialize within one of three practice areas depending on your strengths and interests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare initial drafts of LP transfer documents (transfer agreements, consents, subscription agreements).
- Liaise with transfer parties on process and timings, and assist with execution workflows.
- Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, contributing to high-quality client delivery across fast-moving, high-volume matters.
- Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts and progress towards qualification via the SQE route.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is:
- Eager to learn and grow. You are motivated, curious, and excited to develop expertise in legal practice – whether that is compliance, contracts, or funds.
- Organised and efficient. You prioritize well, manage competing deadlines, and keep matters moving without losing attention to detail.
- A strong communicator. You write and speak clearly and professionally, understanding that our clients expect crisp, concise advice.
- A self-starter. You take initiative, work independently when needed, and proactively flag issues before they become problems.
- A team player. You collaborate effectively with lawyers, senior paralegals, and client-facing teams across a fast-paced environment.
An undergraduate Law degree or equivalent is preferred. Prior exposure to LP Transfer processes is a plus but not required.
