About the role

Paralegals in our Employment practice work closely with attorneys and partners in involving discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment, etc., through the litigation process.

Responsibilities

  • Propound and respond to discovery.
  • Prepare substantive responses for Plaintiff and review Defendant’s responses.
  • Prepare documents for filing with the state and federal court.
  • Draft correspondence and regularly communicate with clients, experts, and defense counsel in an effective and courteous manner.
  • Owns calendaring and scheduling deadlines.
  • Afford assistance with pre-trial preparation, including drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits.
  • Communicate effectively with Partners and Associates.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of Paralegal experience in Employment Litigation for Single Plaintiff (FEHA).
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and state and federal filing process.
  • Working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure.
  • Familiarity with DFEH and EEOC claims process.
  • Experience drafting Meet and Confer responses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in e-Filing and California rules.
  • Experience in Federal procedure is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and follow-up skills.
  • Type at least 40 wpm.

Pay

$36.50-52.89/hr ($72,000 - $110,000) depending on experience.

This position can be hybrid or remote.
