About the role
Provide administrative support to the DOJ Accredited Representative, assist clients with intake, gather documentation, and complete immigration forms. Translate and interpret between English and Spanish for clients, staff, and volunteers. Maintain and organize case files within the case management system. Greeting clients and volunteers during in-office information sessions and assist with workshops. Outreach and coordinate with community partners, churches, and referral sources as needed.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and file documents as needed.
- Assist clients with immigration forms and documentation.
- Translate and interpret between English and Spanish.
- Maintain and organize case files within the case management system.
- Greet clients and volunteers during in-office information sessions and assist with workshops.
- Outreach and coordinate with community partners, churches, and referral sources as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to advance the mission of SERJobs.
- Make recommendations to the Program Coordinator regarding program services.
- Stay abreast of immigration law, regulations, and policies.
- Develop/Manage program budget and make requests for materials and supplies not to exceed approved budget expenditures.
- Ensure program goals are being met under the supervision of the Citizenship Program Coordinator.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, as required.
- Adapt to other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma equivalent required.
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in with immigrants.
- Experience in soft skills and life skills training preferred.
- Demonstrated flexibility and experience working with diverse populations and communities in need.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish).
- Excellent written, verbal communication, strong organizational and administrative skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office and electronic communication.
- Able to work with only general direction and with minimal supervision.
- Effective presentation and response to questions from program staff and members.
- Genuine compassion for underserved and vulnerable individuals and families.
- Interest in working within a nonprofit or ministry-oriented environment.
- Strong initiative, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
- Possess strong leadership skills, be results driven and detail-oriented.
