About the role
The Paralegal will comprehensively support the legal department in providing a wide range of legal services to all business functions, including contracting, real estate, insurance, litigation/disputes, and other matters.
Responsibilities
- Support document management and retention efforts.
- Support attorneys and business colleagues on land matters (ex., acquisitions, dispositions, easements, rights-of-way, leases, condemnations, etc.).
- Partner with Supervising Paralegal to support the Company’s corporate governance program, including subsidiaries and affiliated entities.
- Provide dispute/litigation support to attorneys and business colleagues.
- Co-manage the legal inbox to ensure accurate routing, timely responses.
- Collaborate with the legal team to identify and implement process improvements.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in paralegal studies or a similar field of study.
- Experience: Five or more years of experience providing paralegal support. Specific expertise in contracting is critical; experience in the energy sector and/or complex transactions a plus; exposure to real estate and/or litigation preferred.
- Work Experience: Preference for candidates who have worked in both law firms and private company settings.

- Knowledge: Discretion, credibility, and trustworthiness are critically important, including sensitive and confidential information.
- Skills: High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and meticulous analytical capability. Excellent judgment and initiative in developing creative and effective solutions with a business-oriented approach. Demonstrated success in consulting effectively with all levels of management. Strong ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects successfully, while maintaining an even-keel approach in a very high-paced work environment. Penchant for teamwork in a diverse workplace.
- Abilities: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs. Comfortable using legal operations tools (e.g., e-signature platforms, matter/invoice tools, trackers).
