Paralegal
About the role
MCI is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support by managing case files, conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and ensuring all filings and paperwork are processed efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information from a variety of resources, including statutes, case law, legal articles, and regulations.
- Draft legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs.
- Absorb and prepare documents for court filings.
- Organize and maintain case files, manage deadlines, and keep track of ongoing legal proceedings.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Communicate with clients to obtain information, provide updates on case status, and assist with answering routine questions.
- Absorb and assist attorneys in preparing for court appearances and trials, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and managing correspondence.
- Handle other tasks as assigned by attorneys or supervisors to ensure the efficient operation of the legal team.
Candidate Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field; Paralegal certification preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and document management systems.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, processes, and documentation requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with clients and court personnel.
- Ability to review and organize detailed documents with accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Physical Requirements
This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee will be regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer. The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office to accomplish tasks; reach in any direction; raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and move or exert force up to forty (40) pounds.
