Responsibilities
- Draft routine legal documents
- Manage multiple cases from start to trial
- Collect documents from various sources
- Collect, organize, analyze and summarize medical records
- Review and analyze documents
- Conduct various document searches and factual research
- Aid attorneys with discovery, trial preparation, and case management
- Prepare summaries of deposition transcripts, discovery materials, and case documents
- Maintain case files, deadlines, and litigation support materials
Skills
- Experience assisting in all phases of litigation from case inception through trial
- Experience in toxic tort, product liability, environmental, asbestos, chemical exposure, or other complex litigation matters preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, experts, and vendors
- Strong writing skills with the ability to draft and assist with pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and document productions
- Experience preparing summaries of deposition transcripts, medical records, and discovery materials
- Ability to gather and analyze information from a variety of sources, including legal research and case-related records
- Ability to quickly understand and work with complex case materials, technical documents, and varying litigation subject matters
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines within an active litigation practice
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to evolving case needs and maintain organized case files
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability with the flexibility to handle a wide range of litigation support responsibilities
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, follow through on assignments, and proactively manage responsibilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Professional and/or Adobe DC
- Experience with e-discovery and document management platforms such as Nextpoint, Relativity, or similar systems preferred
- Experience with time entry and billing practices preferred
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments effectively
Requirements
- Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred from accredited school
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Two-plus years' experience as a toxic tort and/or general litigation paralegal preferred
