About the Position
We are looking for a highly experienced, organized, and client-focused paralegal to support our attorneys and clients with estate planning, tax planning, trust funding, and estate administration. This role is intended for a paralegal with substantial estate planning experience, including experience supporting matters involving estate and gift tax considerations, advanced trusts, and high-net-worth clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and revise estate planning documents and support attorneys with advanced estate and tax-planning matters, including trusts, gifting strategies, closely held businesses, real estate interests, and estate and gift tax considerations.
- Review financial information, asset summaries, and planning materials for completeness and accuracy, while maintaining client files, deadlines, timelines, and follow-up tasks.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, professional advisors, financial institutions, attorneys, and other members of the legal support team.
- Prepare for and conduct signing meetings, including document review, witness coordination, and notarization when needed.
- Lead trust funding and implementation efforts, including preparing transfer documents, reviewing asset alignment, and coordinating with clients, advisors, and financial institutions.
- Aid returning estate planning clients when needed, including ongoing communication, plan updates, beneficiary designations, and asset ownership follow-up.
- Assist with probate and trust administration matters, including filings, notices, accountings, asset transfers, and client communication.
- Work closely with attorneys and staff across both offices to keep matters moving accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Support billing by tracking time accurately and coordinating with attorneys and staff to ensure timely invoicing.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of paralegal experience in estate planning, trust funding, probate, trust administration, or a closely related practice area.
- Strong knowledge of Washington estate planning procedures and experience with tax planning, advanced trusts, estate and gift tax matters, and high-net-worth clients.
- Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certification or equivalent professional experience.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong drafting, proofreading, organizational, and document-review skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with attorneys and members of the legal support team across both offices.
- Experience with legal practice management systems and other office technology.
- Washington State Notary Public commission required, or willingness to obtain one soon after hire.
- Ability to work primarily from the Bellevue office and travel to the Seattle office for training, meetings, and occasional coverage as needed.
- Experience with family offices, closely held businesses, or complex asset structures is a plus.

Position Details
- Location: Seattle office or Bellevue office.
- Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, during standard business hours (office is open to clients from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
- Employment Type: In-person and Full-time.
- Compensation: Salary, Pay Range: $75,000 - $100,000/year.
- Classification: Salaried (exempt).
- Start Date: Ideally by August 2026.
