PARALEGAL

This unpaid internship offers the opportunity to assist the General Counsel in preparing and organizing various legal documents for Digital Factory under direct supervision. Reports to: Lawrence Griffith, Executive. Location: Chicago, Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Corporate Compliance Committee, including taking meeting notes, preparing agendas, scheduling meetings, and following up on action items.
• Demonstrate an interest in the intersection of healthcare and technology industries, with a focus on compliance, privacy laws, and regulations governing these sectors.
• Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and exhibit a willingness to quickly adapt and learn new concepts.
• Maintain a positive attitude and bring a sense of humor to the workplace.
• Create spreadsheets and establish retrieval systems for legal documents.
• Schedule, share information, and manage documents.
• Reside in either the Eastern or Central time zone and possess a flexible schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong research and writing abilities for effective legal support.
• Strong communication skills for clear and concise interactions.
• Efficiently, accurately, and promptly respond to multiple project requests.
• Certification in Paralegal Studies.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Preference for law students or those with a minor in legal studies.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience working in a corporate or government legal department.
• Certified Paralegal (CP).
• Professional Paralegal (PP).

Schedule

Internship duration is 6 to 9 months, with potential for a full-time position based on performance, job requirements, and the candidate's availability.
