Responsibilities
- Handle the full range of conveyancing transactions from start to finish, including private residential and commercial property purchases and sales, OTP, sale and purchase agreements, refinancing and redemption matters, development projects, leases, and powers of attorney.
- Prepare all conveyancing documentation including completion accounts, requisition forms, and all other transaction-related documents.
- Conduct title searches, bankruptcy searches, and other requisite searches.
- Correspond and liaise with clients, CPF Board, banks and financial institutions, developers, and estate agents.
- Attend to completion appointments and manage post-completion steps including lodgement of instruments and follow-up with the relevant authorities.
- Open and close matter files, manage billing, handle disbursements, and maintain accurate file records.
- Maintain the diary and track deadlines, completion dates, and key milestones across all matters.
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to the lawyers in the Firm, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.
- Absorb and assist with probate matters and other work undertaken by the Firm as and when required by the lawyers.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 4 years’ experience handling the full scope of conveyancing work in a Singapore law firm.
- Sound knowledge of the conveyancing process, including stamp duty computation and filing, SLA lodgement, and CPF-related conveyancing requirements.
- Proficient in the use of INLIS, e-stamping, and other conveyancing-related platforms and systems.
- Experience in or exposure to probate matters is an advantage.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and WordPerfect.
- Able to work independently and manage matters from start to completion with minimal supervision.
- Meticulous, well-organized, and able to work calmly and accurately under time pressure.
- Good interpersonal skills and a courteous, professional manner when dealing with clients and other parties.
- Good command of written and spoken English; the ability to communicate orally in Mandarin is an advantage for liaising with Mandarin-speaking clients.
- Diploma in Law or a law degree from a recognised institution; candidates who hold a law degree but are not admitted to the Singapore Bar are welcome to apply.
