About the Role
The Paralegal will be an integral part of the Company's in-house legal department, supporting the department's legal operations with paralegal projects in the area of general legal and compliance work with other special projects as assigned. We are a global manufacturer and distributor of dental products with offices throughout the world.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Process markup of documents from Legal department staff
- Draft and review standard forms of contracts (NDAs, MDA's, HCP's, LOA's, trade show agreements, etc.)
- Act as a resource to our internal teams to provide templates and maintain contract files, including follow up on executed versions of contracts and notifying business unit representatives of impending important contract dates
- Provide e-billing support by preparing quarterly accruals and reports, daily management of e-billing database, coordinating document production, and coordinating with Finance regarding budgets and accruals
- Assist with managing and maintaining the Legal department's contract management templates and improving the contract management process
- Assist with auto liability claims and coordinate with third party adjusters
- Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes
- Additional Paralegal-type duties to be assigned based on need, ability, and experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited school
- 4-6 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in-house for a corporation or a law firm
- Legal billing experience preferred (Legal Tracker a plus)
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint applications with proficiency in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Copilot, and familiarity with AI tools
- Strong project management skills including managing and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong computer software background and the ability to gain proficiency quickly, as the department utilizes various third-party software applications
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, litigation dockets, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
