About the role

An experienced Paralegal is needed for a dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on affordable housing transactions. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in all stages of real estate deals, collaborating closely with clients, title companies, and others.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze title documents, surveys, and title commitments.
  • Prepare title and survey objection letters and respond to comments from counterparties.
  • Perform due diligence, coordinate transactions, and work with the team to close affordable housing deals.
  • Work with vendors to order due diligence items, including litigation, UCC, and bankruptcy searches.
  • Communicate with title companies and surveyors to resolve issues and finalize title policies.
  • Use project management tools to assist with work plans, budgets, and tracking.
  • Manage signature pages, coordinate signatures, and prepare closing logistics.
  • Prepare closing indices and binders and handle the post-closing process.
  • Conduct research and gather information using legal and general research tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in real estate or affordable housing.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in affordable housing or commercial real estate.
  • Substantial experience with title and survey work, including reviewing title commitments and resolving exceptions.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional drafting, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, plan tasks, and manage multiple projects.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and tools used by the team.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with legal research tools and databases.

Pay
