About the role

Under direct supervision, perform a wide variety of services associated with the special education instructional program in the classroom and other locations in the school. Employees spend a major portion of their time working with pupils in small groups or as tutors on a one-to-one basis. The remainder of the time is spent preparing instructional materials and performing other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Any one of the following:
  • Completion of 2 years of college at an Accredited Institution of Higher Education (48 units)
  • Possession of an Associate's Degree or higher degree
  • Passage of the CBEST exam
  • Passage of a BUSD approved Paraprofessional Exam
• Previous experience working with special education children, as a teacher, with recognized youth groups, or as a volunteer at a school is desirable

Schedule

• Part-time, school year
• 6 hours per day, Monday - Friday
• Hours: 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

Pay

Pay Range: $21.73 - $26.37 per hour (Range 20A).
