Paraeducator III - Lewis Flamson Junior High School

About the role

The Paraeducator III supports instructional activities of special needs students at Lewis Flamson Junior High School under the direction of the Special Education Director and site administrator.

Responsibilities

• Works directly with students to meet their learning and physical needs as outlined in their IEPs.
• Assesses and responds to inappropriate behaviors, intervening and defusing crisis situations as necessary.

Requirements / Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 48 (or more) college semester units OR certification of passing the District Paraeducator Exam OR a Certificate of Proficiency examination in compliance with Education Code and No Child Left Behind Act are required.
• Experience working with children with Special Education needs is preferred.

Schedule

6.5 hours daily, 10 months/year, 193 days/year.
