Paraeducator II - 6 hrs/day (Rio Linda Prep)

Provides instructional, group and individual behavior, and clerical support to teachers in special education classroom settings, assisting individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning. Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management that occurs in special education and general education classrooms and play field environs.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to teachers in special education classroom settings.
• Assist with behavior management for individuals or small groups of students.
• Support teachers with instruction and classroom management in both special education and general education classrooms.
• Provide clerical support as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Compliance with District skill/competency requirements.
• Valid First Aid/CPR card may be required.

• Proof of High School Graduation (Diploma, Transcripts, or Equivalent such as GED).
• Resume (provide clear evidence of required experience).

Pay

$20.38 - $26.98 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.

Schedule

• 6 hours/day; 5 days/week.
• 182 work days/year.
